I have written on this blog before about the challenge for municipalities to address enormous infrastructure needs through the property tax base.
In December, I sent a letter to the federal Ministers of Finance and Transportation, Infrastructure & Communities to urge funding that would allow us to build quality municipal infrastructure, while creating jobs and stimulating the local economy.
I was pleased to see this alert from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, outlining that significant infrastructure dollars will be part of today’s federal budget. I look forward to hearing the details this afternoon when the government presents the Budget.
