Everyone must do their part in energy conservation.
We have some excellent examples of local industry stepping up to the plate. Owens Corning has achieved a remarkable 43% reduction per unit of production in 7 years. McNeil Consumer Healthcare Canadas has achieved an outstanding 72.5% reduction in electricity per unit of production in 19 years.
Water conservation is also an important energy conserveration. About 25% of the City of Guelph’s electricity bill goes towards pumping water and waste water. Again we have some excellent examples of leadership in the industrial sector.As you can see, these industries have been living a culture of conservation for many years.

Cargill – 25% reduction on daily use in 18 months
McNeil – 88.6% reduction per unit of production in 19 years
