One of the big issues at the beginning of the term was the quality of maintenance of our parks. Members of Council received a lot of complaints during the first season (2007). There was a lot of attention paid to this issue during the discussion of the 2008 budget and workplans.

Another cultural event coming up in Guelph is the Hindu Worship of Fire Deity (Yagna) at Riverside Park from July 4th to 5th at the band shell to promote world peace.

I have been making regular posts on the special days of many cultures. In Guelph, we have a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our community’s diversity at the Multicultural Festival running from June 12 to 14th.
