I recevied two letters this week recognizing Guelph residents for their volunteerism and philanthropy.
The Christian Children’s Fund of Canada wrote that Guelph was one of the top twenty most generous cities in Canada to open its heart to support children-in-need around the world. Over the years, city residents have contributed over $1,067,423 to the organization in lifetime giving.
Meals Exchange wrote to advise me that the University of Guelph raised over $147,521.96 for the Guelph community while engaging 2517 students through Meal Exchange’s programs. This was enough to provide 59009 meals for clients of hunger-relief agencies in Guelph. Meals Exchange is a national student-founded, youth-led registered charity that helps young Canadians realize their potential to impact the community through meaningful opportunities to reduce local hunger.
