Celebrations  for the National Aboriginal Day will take place in Guelph on Friday June, 21, 2013 in Royal City Park from 7p.m.

National Aboriginal Day (Aboriginal/Native Canadian) in 1996, the former Governor General of Canada, Romeo LeBlanc, proclaimed June 21 to be known as National Aboriginal Day.  This is an event growing in importance in Canada when the outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Metis are being recognized – Multicultural Calendar 2013.

Thank you for recognizing our culture. Last year I had to go to Kitchener to celebrate my heritage and I was very disappointed that Guelph was not celebrating this nations 1st people. I am very pleased to know that Guelph will celebrate with us this year :-)
