Today, we ceremonially broke ground on a new Emergency Services Station in the south end that will house Police, Fire, and EMS personnel. Admittedly, we’re a little late in holding the sod turning – construction began in June – but this was our first chance to get everyone together, and we didn’t want to wait to get the real shovels going!
This will be the first station in Ontario to house Police, Fire, and EMS under one roof.
Here is the press release.
Here I am with (from left) Guelph MPP Liz Sandals; MPP Dave Levac, who is the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services; Guelph MP Frank Valeriote; Ward 6 Councillor Christine Billings, and Ward 6 Councillor Karl Wettstein.
