Ribbon Cutting for Rotary Dream Home

April 10, 2010

Making a Difference

I attended the ribbon cutting for the Rotary Dream Home today at 77 Amsterdam Crescent.  This is the Rotary Club of Guelph’s ninth Dream Home fundraiser.  Over $1M has been raised so far for our community.  This year funds will support the development of a Medical Education Centre at the Guelph General Hospital in partnership with McMaster Medical School.  This will bring medical students into our community providing them an exceptional educational experience and showcasing our community – both of which will encourage new doctors to stay in Guelph.  Several years ago, we had a shortage of family doctors in our community.  The Physician Recruitment Committee has done a spectacular job of attracting new family doctors since then.  This initiatve will help support their ongoing efforts to ensure our residents continue to have access to family doctors.
