Another first in Guelph

April 16, 2010

Yesterday, Guelph Hydro Electric Systems Inc. announced the launch of their Smart Energy Platform for 48,000 customers in the Guelph community.

This will allow two way communications between GHESI and its customers.

Some of the benefits include enhanced network reliability and improved power outage management.

New innovations for the home will allow customers to better manage their energy use to save money.

Once again we are being well served by our local utility who is “preparing for the energy future of tomorrow that will be cleaner, more efficient, reliable, resilient and responsive – a smarter grid.”

Smart Grid technology is an investment in the future sustainability of our community and is an important step along the path towards the realization of the goals set out in Guelph’s Community Energy Plan.

We are the first in Ontario to deploy this innovation.
