Some weekend activities

The official ribbon cutting for the new East End Library branch happened on Saturday.  It was great to see so many people from the neighbourhood walking to the new branch.  There was a line up to sign out books! Metrus is working towards achieving LEED Gold status for the building as a result of the environmental and energy conservation features of the design and construction.

I also dropped in at a momstown event this weekend – social networking for new moms.

Saturday night was the annual Red Ribbon Gala to raise funds for the AIDS Committee of Guelph and Wellington County, Bracelet of Hope and the Masai Centre for Local, Regional and Global Health.

The Lions Club of Guelph was also raising money at Chicken Fest this weekend for kids with special needs.
