Local industry celebrates 50 years

Jobs & the Economy

SIHI pumps celebrated its 50th anniversary today with a gathering of current and former employees.

I had met one of their employees a couple of weeks ago and I asked him about the company.  Without hesitation, he said it was a great place to work.  This was clearly evident on the tour.  I learned alot about pumps, particularly the many uses they are put to today –  from maple syrup to waste water.

SIHI is an important part of Guelph’s local economy showing great resiliance through several recession over 50 years.  They attribute their success to their people and their capacity to change – “whatever exists today, must be better tomorrow”.
