I attended the Provincial announcement today of a The Guelph Innovation Centre which will be part of the Ontario Network of Excellence (ONE).
The announcement was suitably made at The Frank Hasenfratz Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing.
Minister Glen Murray outlined how the Ontario Network of Excellence (ONE) is “helping our province’s innovative entrepreneurs build globally competitve companies and develop cutting-edge technologies and services that will change the way we live, work and play”.
Guelph is now one of 14 Regional Innovation Cetnres (RIC) across the province that form the Ontario Network of Excellence.
We are very fortunate to have a RIC in Guelph. It is a result of the vision and hard work of the Chamber of Commerce and President and CEO, Lloyd Longfield.
The initiative will support innovation and the creation of jobs in Guelph and across the Province.
At the City, we have been positioning ourselves to respond to this business-led initiative. The goals of the Province and the Guelph Innovation Centre are aligned with the City of Guelph Economic Development Strategy – Prosperity 2020.
