The use of food banks and pantries is up and their need for food is growing. Please help out if you can by making a food or monetary donation. Local Zehrs have an easy way to make a $5 or $10 donation.

On December 20th, Frank Valeriote, Member of Parliament for Guelph, Mayor Karen Farbridge of Guelph, Councillor Gloria Kovach (Ward 4) and Councillor Cam Guthrie (Ward 4) joined Zehrs® Imperial store owner, Scott McDougall and Debbie Cripps, community outreach director, Guelph Food Bank, at Zehrs® Imperial on 1045 Paisley Road to raise awareness for the need to support the Extra Helping™ Holiday National Food Drive. The group was also joined by Zehrs colleagues Cindy Marsh, Terry Gibson, Sharon McMahon and Nancy Evans . All Zehrs® stores in Guelph will be collecting donations until December 24th in support of the Guelph Food Bank.

It feels great to give a big donation at special times, like Christmas. Please remember, though, that no matter the time of year, there is still a need.
My family and I decide each year which charity we’ll be supporting, and it’s almost always the Food Bank. Each week we try to get a few cans to donate, with our regular shopping. It isn’t much that way, but over the year it adds up significantly. Is this something that could work for you?
