I have been interviewed several times recently regarding my concerns as to how new facilities for Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) in Guelph and Orangeville are proceeding.
In those interviews, I have tried to stress my support for the services that WDGPH employees deliver to our community. I have also stressed that I understand “why” WDGPH must find alternative accomodations in Guelph and Orangeville. What I am stuck on is the ” how”.
The following correspondence from the City of Guelph’s Chief Administrative Officer to the Medical Officer of Health for WDGPH articulates the position of the City of Guelph on this matter.

I would suggest that they try to utilize some of the existing vacant and/or soon to be (i.e.Co-operators south end offices) buildings within the city then go out and build from scratch during these tight times.
