Why was it developed?
To establish rules relative to campaign spending limits, contribution limits and full financial disclosure by all candidates.
What does it cover?
It is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure they are in compliance with the campaign finance rules set out in the Municipal Elections Act.
How is it enforced?
A procedure is prescribed by the legislation that permits a person to apply for a compliance audit of a candidate’s election campaign finances.
