Seniors paddle

I was visiting the Evergreen Seniors Community Centre yesterday and I learned about a fantastic trip that nine seniors (55+) and two guides will be embarking on.  They have organized a canoe trip, one of the many offerings at the Centre, starting on Lake Matagamasi for 5 days in Northern Ontario. With only paddles, packs and canoes they will use their own power to paddle over 55 km of lakes, set up camp each night, and cook over an open fire. The Evergreen Seniors community centre is one of the only seniors centre to offer this type of adventure.  Evergreen SCC organizes this trip annually along with two experienced guides who have over 25 years each of paddling and have led groups at the Homewood as well as McMaster University. Sound like something you would love to do? Well, set your calendars for August 2012 as this year’s trip is full.  I hope they bring back lots of pictures.
