Guelph Community Shows its Gift of Kindness

Today is Random Act of Kindness Day – a day to do something kind for someone else.

This is the third annual event spearheaded by the Guelph Community Foundation.

50,000 Random Act of Kindness Day cards are available throughout the community. I encourage you to do something kind, then hand over the card to the recipient of the good deed and invite them to pay it forward.

Last year, kindness was contagious in our City. There were free meals, free beverages, buying coffee for others, free newspapers, free passes for the gym, and donated day passes from one commuter to the next all day. Others visited seniors and handed out cookies, while some bought flowers for staff. Guelph community showed its gift of kindness.

It is important to note that this day is not about fundraising or giving money. It is about building a caring community. This is an opportunity for us to show why Guelph has been recognized as Canada`s most caring community.
