Living Longer, Living Well

Caring Community

The City of Guelph recently completed an Older Adult Strategy – you can read more about it by clicking here – Older Adult Strategy (you will need to scroll to the bottom of the page to find the links to the report to Council and the strategy).

Many of the recommendations in the strategy require the contribution of other levels of government and the community to be successful.

It was good to see the release this month of a provincial Seniors Strategy by Dr. Samir Sinha, the Director of Geriatrics at Mount Sinai and the University Health Network Hospitals and a Rhodes Scholar with a Masters in Medical History and a Doctorate in Sociology at the University of Oxford’s Institute of Ageing.

You can read more about it by clicking here – Living Longer, Living Well

As we develop the action plan for our community’s Older Adult Strategy, it will be good to see where there is alignment with the provincial plans that we may be able to take advantage of for our community.
