Funeral Services for Guelph Police Constable Kovach


TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2013 (GUELPH) – Rogers TV cable 20, will provide live coverage of the public funeral for Guelph Police Constable Jennifer Kovach Thursday, March 21 beginning at 11:00 AM. Coverage will be repeated same-day at 8:00 PM.

Twenty-six year old Constable Jennifer Kovach, a four-year member of the Guelph Police Service, died as a result of an on-duty collision while responding to a call for police assistance on March 14, 2013.  Constable Kovach is the daughter of long-serving Guelph city councillor Gloria Kovach, and retired Guelph paramedic Bill Kovach.

Rogers TV recognizes that this is a very difficult time for the Kovach family, the Guelph Police Service and the entire community.  The tragic loss of Constable Kovach has been felt far beyond the city of Guelph. Rogers TV is honoured to provide coverage of the funeral services to viewers throughout the province as we celebrate and remember the life of the fallen officer.

Rogers TV’s coverage will begin live at 11:00 AM with the funeral cortege as it makes its way south down Woolwich Street to the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.  Up to six thousand people are expected to attend the service, including police, fire and ambulance personnel from across the country and a number of dignitaries.
