    I am somewhat cynical about the whole ‘Earth Hour’ business. It’s a grand gesture, but that is all. If participants’ goals are to show they care about the state of the planet, gestures like this are pointless. What really matters is lifestyle changes that have a real impact on the environment; beginning with meat free diets, reduced consumption and spurning the consumer lifestyle, choosing where you live relative to where you work, rest and play, and a million other things. Not gestures that make you feel you have done something, when in fact you haven’t even made an iota of difference. Sad, but true.
