It is National Volunteer Week!
The City of Guelph relies on the generous support of over 1,900 volunteers who devote their personal time and effort in so many ways.
The different areas – just in Community and Social Services – where volunteers contribute their time and make a difference in are the following – helping local seniors stay active and healthy in recreational and leisure programs at the Evergreen Seniors Centre; ushering at River Run Centre performances; managing after school programs and camps; supporting people with special needs with the one2one program; Guelph Museums; aquatics programs; the Guelph Youth Council and much more.
To date in 2013, our volunteers have already contributed 17,483 volunteer hours.
