On Friday, October 4, I will be hosting a session on open data at Innovation Guelph from 12 – 1.30p.m. The event is open to business and any interested parties.
The City is committed to pursuing an even more open, accountable, transparent and engaging municipal government—one that empowers the Guelph community to work together on innovative solutions and ultimately, all civic decisions.
In fact, we’re in the process of developing an innovative open government action plan—the first of its kind in Canada.
Making municipal data open and accessible so businesses can make better decisions, innovate, and develop new applications and services will be an important part of this open government plan.
Read more about the City’s approach to participation, innovation, transparency and accountability in an open government context in the framework approved by City Council last November.
Look for future opportunities to get involved in the development of Guelph’s open government action plan.
Come and talk about the economic potential of open data!
