Guelph is unique. More and more people are telling me something different is happening in Guelph. There is a special level of caring – for each other and the city.
The Guelph community will once again show its gift of kindness on November 1, 2013 which is the Random Act of Kindness Day.
While we do simple things to lift others on this day, we know that “everyday kindness” is important. Research shows that kindness offers direct benefits of improved health and happiness.
A day filled with simple acts of kindness which may include donating blood, registering to be an organ donor which takes only two minutes, giving up your seat on the bus for someone who needs it, bringing coffee/tea to the office or taking the garbage out for your neighbour.
50,000 Random Act of Kindness Day cards are available throughout the community. I encourage you to do something kind, then hand over the card to the recipient of the good deed and invite them to pay it forward. You can find the list here where you can pick up the cards.
