“I am grateful that a community member approached me to ask that a book of condolence be offered,” said Mayor Karen Farbridge. “This is a way for the people of our community to remember and honour Nelson Mandela’s remarkable achievements.”
Guelph City Council had a moment of silent prayer in recognition of Mr. Mandela at its December 5 meeting. In addition, the City of Guelph flag is currently half-masted and will remain so until December 16th, following Mr. Mandela’s state funeral. Guelph Fire stations are also displaying a message of remembrance.
