So said a member of the Willow Road community about 2003 Mayor’s Award winners Gary and Sam Zuber, who were described as the backbone of the neighbourhood.
The nomination continued, “If you only looked at the contribution of one or the other of them, you would be awestruck. But, when you know them as a team, you are humbled by their achievements, their passion for building their neighbourhood and their deep compassion for the most vulnerable people in our midst – children. They work from their hearts, with their wits and with humour.”
Nominations are now open for the 2014 Mayor’s Awards. Nominate someone you know online at guelph.ca/mayorsawards. The deadline is April 10.
