“In the social services community in Guelph, you only had to say “Ingrid” and everyone knew who you were talking about.”

That’s what a nominator had to say about 2009 posthumous Mayor’s Award honouree Ingrid MacCrae, who was well-known for her work at Wyndham House, Women in Crisis, Fresh Start, and the Welcome In Drop-In Centre. Her nominator went on to say, She helped countless numbers of the most disadvantaged in our city through her insistence that they be treated with respect and given the services needed to live life to full potential.”
