We raised a flag at City Hall last week to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation registration.
Only 29 per cent of Guelph residents with health cards have registered as organ donors – slightly better than the provincial average of 24 per cent, but not good enough.
What better way to show our stripes as a caring community than to increase our number of registered organ donors? What better way to make a difference than by registering as an organ donor, and potentially giving up to 8 people a second chance at life?
You can register online at beadonor.ca – it takes 2 minutes.
Another way to support organ donation and transplantation is to participate in the Transplant Trot, which takes place in nearby Waterloo. You can find all the details here: http://www.transplanttrot.ca/waterloo/.
