On June 4, the Ontario Municipal Board approved the City’s Official Plan Amendment for the Natural Heritage System (OPA 42).
This brings into effect new Official Plan policies that support long-term protection for significant wetlands, rivers, woodlands, wildlife habitats, and restoration areas.
Now, almost a quarter of the land in Guelph is protected from development by our natural heritage strategy.
