Local film honoured at Columbus Film Festival

I received some good news today from Mayor’s Award winner Andrew Bloomfield:

Dear Mayor Farbridge and staff,

Earlier this year, Mayor Farbridge kindly attended and spoke at the launch events for the short dramatic film we helped to make with director-producer Christine Zorn.

I am pleased to tell you that the film has just been awarded an Honourable Mention in the Columbus Film Festival. That means it had to win at least 6 out of 7 points in every category.

Congratulations to Christine for her leadership and to the whole team!

The film has been shown and discussed in various locations across Canada and beyond. The next showing is this Thursday evening in the new theatre at the renovated Kitchener Public Library, with a discussion of its meaning facilitated by Dr John Lord.

Thanks for your interest and support for our efforts to connect and strengthen our community.

Best wishes,

Congratulations to Christine, Andrew, and the Bridges-Over-Barriers group!
